Who we are

Parents WiredIn (parentswiredin.com) is a parenting online-safety resource and membership. Payments and billing for our paid membership are operated under Marketing Parlour and processed by our payment provider, Stripe. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Parents WiredIn, operated under Marketing Parlour, and we are the controller of the personal information described here.

What we collect

Information you give us — your full name and email address when you subscribe or create an account, and any messages you send us. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe — we never see or store your card details.

Information we collect automatically — technical and usage data such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed, for security, fraud prevention and to understand which guides are useful; and cookies (see below).

How we use it (and our legal bases)

We use your personal information to:

• provide and manage your account, membership and access (performing our contract with you);
• process payments, renewals, receipts and tax invoices via Stripe and keep required financial records (contract and legal obligation);
• answer your enquiries and provide support;
• secure the site, prevent fraud and improve our content (legitimate interests);
• send you service messages such as welcome, billing and renewal notices; and
• only where permitted, send marketing and measure our advertising (consent and/or legitimate interests — you can opt out anytime).

For users in the UK and EU, these are the bases we rely on under the UK GDPR and GDPR.

AI and automated content

We use artificial-intelligence tools to help research, draft, summarise and illustrate some of our content — for example our Cyber Kids News summaries and parts of our guides — which we then review against reputable sources. AI-assisted content can still contain errors or become out of date. We do not use your personal information to train public or third-party AI models, and any AI processing that touches your personal data is limited to operating and securing the service.

Payments and billing (Stripe)

Our payment provider is Stripe, and billing is operated under Marketing Parlour. When you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment details under its own terms and privacy policy and provides the payment controls, receipts and tax invoices. We receive only limited information from Stripe — such as your name, email and the status of your payments — to manage your membership. We never receive your full card number.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising for money. We share data only with service providers who help us run the site and your membership, under contracts that require them to protect it — including Stripe (payments and billing), our email provider (Resend), our hosting, database and authentication providers (Supabase / Lovable), analytics and advertising-measurement providers (including the Meta pixel, where enabled), our professional advisers, and authorities where we are legally required to disclose.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your subscription is active and for as long as you keep an account with us. If you cancel, your access to the Ultimate Guide continues until the end of your current paid period and then ends; your account itself stays — until you ask us to delete your account (except for limited records we must keep by law). We delete or anonymise personal data when we no longer need it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and our payment provider is PCI-DSS compliant. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant regulator of a serious data breach where the law requires.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies — essential ones to run the site and keep you logged in, analytics to understand which guides are useful, and, where enabled, advertising and measurement cookies such as the Meta pixel. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time, and where required we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information:

• Everyone — ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or to stop marketing, by emailing info@parentswiredin.com.
• Australia — under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles you can access and correct your information and complain to us or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
• UK and EU — under the UK GDPR/GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and to withdraw consent, and can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local authority.
• United States (including California) — you can ask us to know, access, delete and correct your information and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it; we do not sell your personal information and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

We'll verify your request and respond within the time the law requires.

Children

Parents WiredIn is written for parents and carers, not for children. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our site and the law change. The current version, with its effective date, will always be on this page, and we'll take reasonable steps to tell you about significant changes.
